Working with these awesome 5th graders has been amazing. Piloting this with one grade during lunchtime recess seems to be working. I am most excited to see one of my students really flourish. She has come out of her shell and really taken on leader role in her group as they work on planning their app around school problem. What I have found most interesting is that I see her showing more confidence in regular education classes since she started attending the coding club. She is so excited to start prototyping and app. I have known her for few years but I have not seen this excitement in her in academic setting.

Deadlines: I had set deadlines for the student teams, it has been difficult since it is the end of the school year and it is very busy time. I am excited to see the progress of the students move forward and they are now prototyping their app. I adjusted the deadlines as I could see the students needed more time. Students started working on the prototype in Apple's Keynote. I was surprised and excited that students asked me if they could come in and join the Before and After school program to work on their app design. The larger group has divided their group up and each member has delegated tasks and deadlines their team has set. Each time they meet they check in with one another and see how they can support one another in their tasks.

I read in Apple's App Student Showcase Keynote that we could create shirt using the SWIFT logo. So I went head and created some shirts for the students. I bought plain black shirts from Michael's Craft store. I then use the logo and followed the guidelines and downloaded it. I input the logo into my Cricut Design Studio and cut the SWIFT logo out on iron Circuit white. The students were really excited to wear their shirts at school. They were so proud to wear them around school. Our dress code doesn't allow students to have any logos or images on their shirts unless they are spirit shirts. Our principal approved the shirts to be worn as school spirit wear.
